We don't have your information or data. What the hell would we share or sell?

So, we don't share your information. Or your fucking data. Because we don't have it.

We also don't have off-platform advertisers who want your data. Shing.tv will never have advertising. A strong desire for the complete lack of advertising is the reason Shing.tv was created.

Your IP address, if recorded, is persisted for 7 days on a load balancer. Retention is generally 7 days.

Deletes are deletes. If you clear chat, delete an episode or video, or otherwise click a button labeled Delete here at Shing.tv and it succeeds, it's gone. We cannot restore or "undo" accidental deletes. If you delete something, it's gone.

If we receive a warrant for your information, we will respond as required and only as required.

We have not received any requests for information in the 2023 calendar year.

We did not receive any requests for information in the 2022 calendar year.

We don't have employees. So they don't access your data.

Our site moderators can't access your account. They can, however, throw you out of a window for violating anything in this area of the website, and they will.

Data Retention

Some generalized and anonymized data is kept for 30 days for the calculation of usage statistics for internal use at Shing. We sometimes publicly publish some of these aggregate, anonymize statistics. Usage data older than 30 days is removed from the system. Backups are not made and snapshots are not taken of usage data.

All Channel Operators can configure their channel to delete chat when they hang up or lose connection. Deletes are deletes, and the information is removed from our system. Backups are not made and snapshots are not taken of chat data.

An episode deleted from DVR is deleted. It cannot be recovered. There are no backups or snapshots of episode data. They cannot be recovered.

A video deleted from Library is deleted. It cannot be recovered. There are no backups or snapshots of libary video data. It cannot be recovered.

A clip deleted from Clip Extractor is deleted. It cannot be recovered. There are no backups or snapshots of clips and their data. Once deleted, they cannot be recovered.

A user profile that is deleted is deleted. It cannot be recovered. There are backups of user profile data, and that data is retained for 30 days as part of Shing.tv's disaster recovery strategy. If our database explodes in a ball of fire, we want to be able to restore site members and their purchases. So we can.
